Tone Generator Pro App Reviews

The new design is so poor that this once useful pro audio tool is now useless and toy like. How do I easily change setting? Why cant I change the level easily? The old interface sucked but at least it had all the tools. Im glad I still have the audio tools app with all the old versions in it.

I used to use the sweeping wheel to find frequencies in a live show that were potentially feeding back. I can no longer do that without the wheel. The sweeping bar is not fine tuned enough and even jumps frequencies. This was my main used for this app. The app is now unusable to me.

What a shame. This used to be my live tool to pin point feedback by manually dialing through the frequencies. Its useless now. Worst update ever.

Much like the new eBay app, the developers have decided to trade simplicity and functionality in for a new look. Why? Nothing was wrong with the previous version. Cant remember if this was a purchase or not, but frustrating for sure. Information/hierarchy design is the MOST important aspect of any app or software in my opinion.

This app was wonderful before the update. I loved being able to run 2 Hz to check all my wiring was correct. But now the lowest it can go is 20 Hz. The update also deleted the sweeping and octave tools. The new interface might look nice, but I would have preferred the old Interface to this one. I gave it two stars because it was, and still is a great app but they shouldnt have fixed what wasnt broken.

Very useful when teaching a class on the physics of sound.

Now, its interface lacks the frequency sliders and sweep wheels that made the app so easy to use before the update. Please lose the scroll menu in the parameters section and utilize the screen size. The sliders in the parameters section act only as indicators to which frequency is selected - forcing the user to use the number wheels and navigating number wheels in a scroll menu wastes time. Time is spent correcting accidental changes to the number wheels that were made trying to scroll than actually using the app for frequency sweeps. Please bring back the frequency sliders and sweep wheel and get rid of the scrolling parameter menu! Thank you! Love the additional functions and new options of the upgrade, miss the intuitive interface from the old version

Well-thought, easy to use, accurate, entertaining in an odd way, a fine way to find out how deaf youve gotten over the years. This app can be a very useful tool if you into areas related to sound. Ive had no problems using it.

I need the sweep wheel that you actually move in a dial motion. Re add this or my rating will stand.

This application updated without my permission. Also this application pestered me to write a review against my wishes. I do not like being bugged to write reviews.

This tone generator is easy to use.

Works well, supports iPad (again). New interface is a mixed bag: the home screen acts like a compass, which it is not, but that can be stopped in its Settings. The tone generators wheel has been replaced with a linear slider, and on the iPad, thats fine. Dont know how itll be on a phone or ipod with their small screens.

This just works and works well. Simple to use and interfaces with any amplifier. I use it with an analyzer and its much easier than hauling out my huge HP generator!

I liked the old version better. It was easier to use. I use this as a sleep aid and last night the wave changed for no apparent reason.

Liked the old version. Now it looks like a toy. I need a professional tone generator, not a gimmick with a wheel that spins. Ridiculous! Let me choose the interface.

Wish I could go back to the old useful version that was an actual tool. New version is only useful for annoying pets and family members. Way to ruin a great app guys. Deleting it now.

Good signal strength, seems accurate, good for identifying tones you may be hearing and need to figure out.

The former interface worked wonderfully well with the sweep wheels and tone selection options. This "updated" version took away so much of the funtionality and ease of use. The new waveform display is nothing but a gimmick, cool to look at for a little while but ultimately useless in professional settings. Please go back to how it was (version 1.08), this is an unacceptable step backwards!
